Anyone got any tips of how to straighten the plunger bit of a ai gun? Have to through squeeze gaps in locking yokes and catch them whilst ai’ing and one bit of bend and they are borderline written off, got a drawer full of knackered guns hoping to resurrect a few!

Don’t bother, they never come straight. AI techs usually have a few on their vans, or ask your liquid nitrogen guy. Replaced a good few rods over the years!

Yes, the rod. My guns were fine.

Just bend between fingers.
If you try gripping them with something you risk putting a flat on it.
Still using my original guns 35 years.
Tight or what!

Is a bit of a bend like in the picture not a good thing, so as there is a bit of control when emptying the straw?

I'd put them in the vise and carefully ease them straight then run over them with a bit of emery paper.
