AI semen straw outside diameter - 0.25 and 0.5ml

Afternoon
Any chance someone could measure the outside diameter of a straw for me?

I've just purchased some inseminators/pistolettes from China (it seemed like a good idea at the time) which claimed to be able to accept 0.25 and 0.5ml straws. They've just arrived, I'm comparing them to the inseminators I've already got and I don't think they're going to work.

The outside diameter is fine, and accepts my sheaths correctly, but the inner diameter is far smaller and I'm not sure a straw is going to fit inside. Unfortunately I haven't got any straws on hand to try, but I do have 15 days to open a dispute with the seller.

One on the left is the Chinese one, one on the right is my old one.

Thanks. This is what it's meant to look like (apparently), I assume the bit in the end is a removeable sleeve? Who knows.

Large diameter inesminator has an ID of about 3mm, smaller one ID is about 2mm.

I'll reach out to CRV tomorrow and see if their frozen straws are 0.25 or 0.5. I don't remember them being that big so assume they're 0.25.

Only ever had 0.25s from CRV haven’t used a 0.5 for 10+ years here.

Only Conventional American semen comes in the .5 size. All other semen including American sexed semen comes in .25

The Ambreed straws that come to the UK are all 0.25 cc.
The 0.5cc straws are predominantly from the USA or are ‘old’ straws ( in the UK)

So I've called CRV/Ambreed this morning, they only use 0.25 straws now so it's all looking promising.

Good $$ saving if these ones from the Peoples Republic work out, they're about 1/3 the price of anything available on the local market and they seem to be reasonably well made.

For future reference, these are the ones I got, option 3

I'll post an update in October as to whether they work or not.

The Chinese inseminators work well.

I had to put them in the lathe and take a bit off the front so the sheaths would fit properly, but other than that they're perfect. Green sheaths for anyone that's interested.
