This is very sad story, but I thought it also has a lot of relevance to many workers in the countryside who could depend on the Air Ambulance one day. It's not me but from Facebook page I am on.
Just 10 weeks ago my life changed in the most horrendous way, I lost my amazing and beautiful sister in a horrific motorcycle accident. I don’t ask much of anyone, but I ask for your time, just 5 seconds of it. Click the link below and sign this petition, then confirm your email address. I don’t want money, I don’t want sympathy, just that simple click of a button to make a change that would makea huge difference to this country.
Here’s the background, if you’d like to read why I’m asking, this one will take about 42 seconds to read, but that isn’t the important part.
On 31st March 2019, my sister Lee-Anne Parkin, was riding pillion on a motorbike with her partner in the Driffield area, where sadly, they were involved in a devastating and life changing road traffic collision. Tragically, Steve passed away at the scene and my sister was found unconscious. The Great North Air Ambulance arrived within minutes of the accident and they very quickly sedated her and air lifted her to the nearest major trauma unit in Teesside.
My brave sister fought hard for a week but was in a very deep coma, and after suffering serious injuries to her head, her battle came to an end the following Sunday, 7th April.
The Air Ambulance Team kept in frequent contact with the hospital the entire time to check Lee-Annes progress, and as a family we are forever grateful to them and to the wonderful hospital staff at Teesside ICU for doing everything in their power to try to save my sisters life.
The Air Ambulance plays a vital role saving lives across the country and need to raise around £12,000 per day to keep both the Air Ambulance’s helicopters maintained and in the air and as a family we are very grateful to have had them there when Lee-Anne needed them most. The Air Ambulance is funded fully through charitable donations and since this tragedy I have started a petition to ask the UK Government to fund the Air Ambulance through the public services. Please can you take a minute to sign, share and confirm your email address then pass this on to as many people as possible, I'm trying to reach out to as many people as possible. We NEED 10,000 signatures for the Government to respond and 100,000 for them to debate it in parliament.
This was my sister and her boyfriends last photo before the accident, it was taken around 20 minutes before the collision.
I beg you, sign, share, spread on to your friends and finally, confirm your email. 5 seconds could change so many lives.
