Does anybody know if vacuum pump oil is fit to use in an air compressor?

Ah thanksEngine oil would be the best get you out of jail card really but still not ideal. After all it’s only a piston, crank, bearing and a bush! If you’re not changing it annually use engine oil to flush it out few tines before filling up with correct oil. We’ve got a twin pump setup one at work and I change the oil every September. It still ruined a small end bush about 5 yrs ago!!!
Mostly because it relies on splash lubrication rather than forced.Engine oil would be the best get you out of jail card really but still not ideal.
