@lazy farmer It's always a load removed to get the blasted thing over with.

It's back to the usual dreaded north/south split. I've just finished covering third cut today. The effluent is running already. No completely dry days this week, and humidity dipping only to the eighties most of the time. Nightmare trying to make silage in that. I made some last week which went better because the humidity was a bit lower, though it didn't get enough wilt either. I'd guess last week's batch will make around 26/27%, but this week's probably more like 22/23. Not good enough for milkers that have grass silage as their 12 month base diet. :(

On the up side, it's off in the nick of time for a late September fourth cut, and before my man goes on hols. It's springing like mad now, and we're in a race to get a light lick of thin slurry on while we can.
