All things Dairy

What will you blind that off with to finish the track? We are on river gravel, I went to a farm that had used it for tracks, it was horrible to walk on, they had covered it all with astroturf, but walking over badly poached ground after it had been baked would have been more pleasant
That will break down with a 20ton vibration roller and be perfect.

we have several places we can dig stone, but you never quite know how much is there, 3 places, great stone, then just stops, 1 place, probably they stopped quarrying years ago, another 6ft deep, then clay, at the top of the farm. To break it down, we have used a tractor grinder, and tractor wacker plate, much better surface than using a vibrator roller.
It's great to have a good supply of stone.

Heifers out, all due in September. Cows going out once rain has passed through, very late out for us, but gained a new family member recently so been lots of trips into hospital but finally home now. Kept cows in to keep it simple for great gang running things in my absence. Always see the best in staff when things go pear shape!

good staff are worth their weight in gold, and should never be taken for granted. Bad staff are just a pain in the butt.
There is a massive expanding estate project close by, always looking for staff, about 200 working there, they love good 'farm' workers, to drive the machinery about. So all the good men, take the money, for doing pee all, and you cannot blame them. We have a muppet on, cannot work a full day, to tiring, comes in, scrapes out, and feeds, 2 hours, on a good day, on a bad day, 4 hours he needs. Son has more patience than me, but as i can no longer do it, i keep out the way ! Hopefully, we have found a 'potential', just hope he will start for us.

Congratulations.
Never a truer word spoken about the team. Amazing what people can deal with when needed

Do you think the rain will come to much? Can't see it myself. Few damp odd days but nothing tragic

I came home one night to find cows all milked, night scraping done warm fresh baked sausage rolls and fresh cake waiting. All sorted by neighbouring farmers.
A week or so watching NHS staff busy working away in NICU really makes you realise how lucky we are to have the NHS.
