Crossbreds are looking like they are very desirable now! Some look pretty cheap. Not the flying sale I’d expect from the stock I expect they are

You mean the cross breds are cheap?Crossbreds are looking like they are very desirable now!
Sorry, expensiveYou mean the cross breds are cheap?
Wanted to go there to spend some money but... instead stuck on farm with the vet spending money...
Phew, feel better about the difficult calving nowSorry, expensive
What do you pull the feeder with? I’m trying to find a second hand one for ages, but like rocking horse sh!t.First batch of calves out, 20 calves on a 50 space feeder and they still fight over the same 3 teats
The only way to feed calves..First batch of calves out, 20 calves on a 50 space feeder and they still fight over the same 3 teats
I agree, might of been marteye camera but didn't think the Holsteins looked big solid types that have a decent cull value?saw some xbred calves out today, with a proper creep feeder, long established grazing herd.
sale today, the hols looked cheaper than the xbred, different economics, some of those jx, were close to 60ppl, pre seasonality, haven't been in the 60p bracket before. But only bought 1, and son didn't wait for the jerseys. Lot of 3/4 or light cows in the sale. But plenty more sales on the horizon.
that's the problem of marteye.I agree, might of been marteye camera but didn't think the Holsteins looked big solid types that have a decent cull value?
Welcome aboard!I'm new to the group. This is one of my heifers due soon on a cracking Cornish evening
Right in the middle pretty much.Welcome aboard!
Where abouts in the Duchy are you?
I bought 3 xbreds but had to pay for them. The Holsteins were a bit plain and one hell of a lot of 3 titters in there. I think the best were left at home. Auctioneer thought they were a good trade for what they were.that's the problem of marteye.
son said they were fair cows, and trade showed that, wished he'd bought some of them, but liked the yields on the xbreds, and only bought 1.
