Good to see pictures of someone elses Jerseys out grazing. Do many herds in Pennsylvania still have cows out grazing during the summer?

Yeah our weather is looking crap, wintery showers and gale or severe gale northerlies for start of the week. No need for my shorts just yet anyway, turn out till may now I would think.

Forecast medium northerly winds, snow showers and or frost at night wind chill of -6 mid week, daytime single figures so depends how tough you are but I know what I would be wearing (plus woolly hat, overalls, fleece, gloves...)

Went for a walk this morning and came across one of my customers heifers.

Once calved they will graze the best grass swards known to man and the maize ain't too bad either.

Orchard grass is our main cool season grass. We have some ryegrass but not much.

Some but not many. Mostly young stock that use meadows for exercise and not feed
