Elisabet one of our younger heifers. She followed me all round the field checking heavily pregnant cows, shoved away the younger stock who nearly ran into me. My own, little shadow and favourite bodyguard! Felt guilty for leaving her behind. As I got over the fence, she was calling to me... Who could ask for anything better?

It's a pretty big crop but I'm glad only the front third of the field is turnips because they're getting a but mildewy already, the rest is rape. Milk volume and solids are up since starting them last weekend.

I've walked cattle and hogs between the 2 many times, just not in Aug. My chap who milks a lot got his foot stood on last week, so needs a week off, and they went to do the parlour test on thursday and found a load of pulsators not working, so i dont think we will get there this week.
