View attachment 644282 Just scouted this, never normally bothered about what cis has to say because I do all the work on uniform. Our yields dropped massively when we were getting a terrible milk price,so I haven't bothered about average yields, but recovered to a decent average. Our heifers seem to just relax as a milking heifer but really come on as second calvers. As a heifer I just want her to get in calve easily and let her pay for her keep later. So difficult for the milking heifers I find, coming from chilling out not really doing anything to being milked twice a day and chucked into the cow shed exposed to being battered by the olds dogs.

What's your fat and pro kgs? as I would think this is a better indication what's going on rather than just litres

Tidy job but I think you need some slats, cubicles and a shed over that(y)

No I don't
Slatted sheds don't excite me in the slightest firstly the gas danger
Secondly the risk of machines breaking through slats or even stock going through slats. Some one not too far from us ended up sat in his near full tank under his shed when teleporter went through his 2yr old slatted floor made me shiver could have been a very nasty outcome.
Thirdly the expense

I agree gas is a danger, but if the proper procedures/ precautions are taken then it shouldn't be a problem. Have never seen a machine fall completely through slats, nor would I want to. I know that the pre-cast firm I work for would always encourage farmers to put in heavy duty slats where there are going to be driven over constantly. Expense wise, you're probably talking about spending the same again on slats as the tank.
