Purpose built cubicle house, 14ft head to heads, 11ft passageways, light, airy, open but not drafty.

Then converted loose house into cubicles, 11ft head to heads, low roofs, bare 9ft passageways. 7ft from heal to wall, most things we are told not to do.

Both on deep sand, run as 1 yard.
Why are the cows queuing to get into the sub standard shed? We could have got another 120 cubicles in the purpose built shed if we used the same dimensions as the converted shed!
So all the "experts" want one thing, the cows want something completely different!
People say cows love kennel houses cubicle sheds, this would be similar dimensions.

Any ideas why?
Neck rail in new shed looks awkward with being on underside?

How long are peoples passports taking to arrive? Its been two weeks here and I'm keen to get some beef calves gone as they're taking too long and costing a fortune in powder now 🙈
For me theyve been 2-3 weeks behind all year. But i cant believe my eyes, tagged calves and registered on Tuesday. Passports came today! Someone must be on a different kind of powder.

I’d be checking online that I’d actually applied for them. Plenty times over my career I’ve failed to press send or the internet has failed or I’d fallen asleep,

I was talking about this with my neighbour today. He said his passports were taking along time to arrive, and he does his online. I used to do this , but have changed over to the telephone service, and they seem to arrive within a week or 10 days.

Time to get backing fences up🫣
@Slowcow do your run back onto grass or have bales along side you beet?
Run back into a steep grass field I laid up in July , there's loads of nice grass at the moment, not the thatch I was hoping for!

Ad lib hay while they on the beet, will probably move ring feeder into beet field later on.
