On the other hand you don’t need tracks, fences, water troughs everywhere & associated pipework. Different strokes for different folks etc. That’s the trouble with indoor herds ,there’s always money to be spent on something

One of my vets called in the other day, out of curiosity he asked how much a year my rotary costs me 8-10k, he’s got a similar farm who’s GEA rotary is costing them 9k a month. He commented we had learnt a lot from the indoor herds about creating a good environment for our cows in the winter. Perhaps the indoor men could learn a thing or two about cost control from he grazing guys.On the other hand you don’t need tracks, fences, water troughs everywhere & associated pipework. bit of a sweeping statement but ok…Perhaps the indoor men could learn a thing or two about cost control from he grazing guys.
but its what the guv want, highly technical efficiencythats the problem though isnt it, everything we buy has a maintenace cost. More cost added to the business. We have been removing things that have these constant maintenance costs. All we are doing is giving our hard earned money away to these people
Which in the scheme of things are far cheaper and easier that all this tech the indoor herds needOn the other hand you don’t need tracks, fences, water troughs everywhere & associated pipework. Different strokes for different folks etc.
What on earth could be going wrong that needs over 100k a year spent on it?!One of my vets called in the other day, out of curiosity he asked how much a year my rotary costs me 8-10k, he’s got a similar farm who’s GEA rotary is costing them 9k a month. That’s exactly the reason I’ve been able to pay for that out of cashflow without borrowing any money. This job isn’t hard we make it harder for ourselves. I’m just as guilty as other at being sucked into gimmicks over the yearsSteady we've all seen your new sheds

From what I can gather @Grassman247 hasn’t mistaken farming and land ownership to be the same thing. Now he’s using his cash generational farming business to become a landowner. For your business to be in that position someone’s borrowed money to get it there tho, still bloody impressive
Or got it from a king a few hundred years ago for supporting the right side!!For your business to be in that position someone’s borrowed money to get it there tho, still bloody impressive
