The dc control on my Amazone UX 4200 sprayer has stopped working. The screen (Amatron 3) is showing 0cm on one side and when dc is turned on booms tilt right over and raise to max height? Any ideas?

We had a sensor pack up on our uf. The boom just tilted to the max one way and lifted. Swaped sensors from side to side and it tilted the other way. Replaced the sensor and all is good. Just be sat down when you find out the price of the sensor.

Speaking of Amazone UX sprayers... I’m currently looking at buying one ! Is steering axle worth the extra cost on 24mtr , all cereals...
Also looking at horsch AX ... any viewpoints ?

What UX are we talking about? Steering axle is great once it is set up and fine tuned.

I was looking at the UX 4200 special .. The steering axle is an extra 5500 K and very few will pay that for just cereals! Also the sales chap says that the sprayer is short bodied and not necessary...

I thought a steering axle was essential for cereals to avoid running down so much crop when turning?

Just going on what a salesman told me. He said he'd a non steering axle one and he would just sell it to someone spraying grass.

I’d much rather buy secondhand but good ones don’t come up really .. everyone keeps their sprayer a long time and you have to have backup and the other problem is that they’re aren’t any independent service lads to call on.

It is all on how much you are going to spray? Also if you are happy for run down crop in corners. I know up here we have never put one out without it. Apart from and old style UG but that had the steering drawback.

I’ve accidentally forgotten to turn the steering axle on, on our ux3200 a few times. I would not want to run like that constantly!
Yes they are short bodied but they still cut in enough to make a mess!

Interesting responses ... can I suggest one might spread Fertilizers with a spreader on a bogey axle and not think about corners ..But not with a sprayer!?
