I havn't the first idea about these but are they still a viable option?.
All the grants/subs are now stopped are they not?
Are they something I should look into or is that passed now?
Thanks.

It depends on much effort and thinking outside the box you want to put into it.

It you want an easy life with a nice simple 500kw non-waste forage only plant.. that ship has sailed.

Waste and gate fees is where the future is now and actually if you could get around £500,000 turn over from the gate fee, you will have overtook any extra FIT/ROC's that where/are available on a standard 500kw plant.

You can look at bottling the gas for use elsewhere and fully utilizing the drying floor and excess heat available to turn it into an alternative income as well.

Thank you.
The non waste, forage only was what I was thinking of, but I suppose anythings possible if the sums add up.
Im probably in the wrong location to make the waste add up as I am over an hr from Belfast.

Is there a major amount of 'waste' heat on offer for people who have a use for it or is the heat needed to keep the digestor the right temperature?

Far more electrical yield from PV than from crops for AD, so PV is the best option unless you can make very good use of the heat from a CHP

Not at all, In fact the NIEA want the waste AD plants away from main residential areas.

A factor is the amount of abattoirs, milk/food processors you have in your local area, but really distance is no object in haulage.

It's just getting the right angle on it to make it pay without any subs, bottling should/will be a viable option, might take another few years to get it perfected but will get there.

Its getting the right product on the drying floors that is the thinking part. Know of one local who is drying something that ends up in newmarket.. by all reports its lucrative.

There's plenty of heat and if you needed more power/heat just "get the 13mm spanner out" lol, Basically you just get the 500Kw plant to run at 550Kw, leaving you will 50Kw to play with for extra fans/heating etc if you were exporting 500kw on contract. There's no real reason why you couldn't go even higher if needed.
