After ~50 discs the second one of these bosch brand has failed, I havent abused it either it just seemed to crack and that was that

Are there any better quality ones on the market, as they are handy or are there any DIY solutions that people have thought up

P.S. I put copper grease on the M14thread everytime to ensure it doesn't sieze, got caught a long long time ago......

No issues with my milwaukee fixtec nuts. Dont put grease on them ever!

There are 2 sizes of fixtec aswell. One has slightly smaller outer better for dished type discs but not a easy to undo sometimes and not so suited to the 7 and 9 inch.
Larger one I prefer for everything other than dished 115mm and 125mm discs. It fouls the dish so dont tighten right and harder to undo.

Never go back to standard nuts now.

I've got some fixtec nuts. They're ok I suppose but not ground breaking stuff, good for slitting discs on a 4" because they're too fragile to snatch off by hand.

Hitachi grinders don't have enough thread really... barely get one turn hence my attitude.

Got a makita one on both grinders the 4 inch has had hundreds of discs on it,no probs

Got Milwaukee fixtec seems ok so far saying that only few discs with it.

Anyone else find that no matter how lightly you do it up you need pliers to undo it?

Another MIlwaukee one here - never had a problem with it yet. Easy to undo too.

only when you use the larger dia fixtec with a dished disc.

I have 3 and dad has 1. No problems.

happens though. I just bought a new Milwaukee soldering iron opened box plugged it in and it didnt work

as it does. It was just the riveting of tbe components that gave way.

But not sure on brand, but it's outlived 3 9" grinders. Need another now for my new 5" cordless. So do I go for same type again?

Bosch ones here on everything except the latest cordless, have them 12 plus years now & no issues.

Got a Bosch one here that’s on it’s 2nd 9” grinder and Fixtec ones on the 4.5”s, one on it’s 3rd grinder. Never put anything on the threads.
I seem to kill the grinders but not the nuts.
