After a few farms out the way to rear birds for me, I'll supply the broodfowl and feed, and buy whatever you rear for a fee. I'm in cumbria but location isn't an issue, I often travel to Wales, and anywhere else I have use of a courier.
Will pay 10 to 20 a bird depending on age reared till.

Sounds dodgey as f**k to me. I had an offer very very similar to this once from the local pikey camp to do similar for there fighting birds… I notice you were looking for cheap ex layers too so I’d imagine your tangled up with the same sort of thing…and considering it needs to be out the way rings alarm bells for me.
Wrong group to join if that is your game I think!

Needs to be out the way to stop the nomadic folk from finding them and stealing them.
They simply do better when let out to roam, and produce stronger chicks for it, if its not for you then so be it.

I’m fully aware of why you want to hide them, half of it would be so the law and general public don’t see either..!

cock fighting is illegal and wrong, i don’t think this is the right group for you.

not sure what the mods view on rearing cock fighting birds would be?

Don’t get involved. The reason he will buy them off you is so if the law turn up and realise these cock birds with spurs 4” long that stand as high as a swan are fighting birds your then lumbered with the legality’s of it. Eyes of the law you’d be rearing fighting birds which was outlawed in ‘99

so you've 'lost your pens'...need ppl to rear birds for you...but anyone is welcome to come and see your birds🤔

you lost your pens but not the birds?....you've nowhere to keep breeding fowl?

it is 'game fowl' we're talking about?...what is your motive/purpose?..hobby?

it may just be a 'communication/context ' issue but it does read like you're after rearing fighting birds

I don't support cock fighting.

But go to any poultry show & you will see game birds.

Local breeder has some, a breed from the far east but theft is a big problem for him. I know another, very well off & he has many pens laying old english game birds, just a hobby he said.

Not doubted that, some of them are pretty birds.

I think we all know with how vague he’s being, what he’s asking, refusal to directly annwser questions, and his name what his intentions are.

2 Simple questions (that you’ve skirted round several times now), are they fighting birds?
You kept your birds in an industrial warehouse?
No they aren't, I kept my breeders in aviarys there, they where under lights as it keeps them laying all year round, plus it was where I reared my chicks as there was electric for brooders and incubators.

The birds are currently being kept at a friend's allotment, which in the past has has birds stolen from it.
I lost my pens yes, as well as my incubator and brooders.
The birds are carlisle old english game, and they're for exhibition.
The breed was never bred for cockfighting, but it doesn't stop a certain group of people still stealing them.
