Have some Shabras grown on one field as a new variety to us, seems pretty decent but just wondering if anyone has grown a decent acreage of it, is it a good light land variety?

was our top yielder on lightish land last year, looking good this year a few patches lodged and a week off harvest. Flag leaf seems to sit at an angle and makes the crop look thicker (intercept more light?).

I have had a growers growing Shabras as a seed crop over the last 3 years 50 ha each time he gets on with the variety very well on rolling downland where the hills on top are very light and its quite heavy in the bottoms, it does better on the lighter soils. He will be growing for a fourth year this Autumn. This years crop averaged well over 10 T/ha last year in a 2nd wheat position just over 9.

Our Shabras on medium/heavy land is doing well. Probably about 3.5/3.7 t/acre. It’s bright and has a nice straw. About 73-75 bushel so not the best this year but there’s a decent crop

We’ll be growing it again

Done well here, 4.3t/ac over Farm weighbridge. Quite leggy and went over in places but gave a lovely sample and easy to thrash. It was a 1.5 wheat after SB.
