really like the Ritchie beef monitor, so I'd like to make my own to measure finishing cattle weights.

Anyone made one already? Any pitfalls?

How much would a panel eid reader cost?

You wouldn't need a panel reader. A simple system would be to put your rid reader within tag range on the weigh unit and then have it Bluetooth to a tablet or phone with management software. Do it once a week for a day or even half a day they all have to drink at some point just need a cheap cattle weigh platform and a water trough.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
