I applied some calciprill lime yesterday to acid patches in osr. The sprayer is finishing off pre drilling glyphosate for the next couple of days them moving onto the first N dose on osr next week followed by the wheat. My grazier is tanking slurry onto some grass silage leys I am growing for him.

Hopefully next week on W Barley plus a bit on the OSR (whats left), conditions still a bit sticky, rain every few days keeps taking it all back to square one after some warm sun and wind had begun to dry things out a touch over the last couple of days.

I'd be going on winter barley and wheat now but I'm busy with the pigs so it'll be mid next week for me.

What rates are others applying?
I'm going on with 40 units N and 52 units so3/ acre (50 kg n/ha and 65 kg so3/ha)

What happens if we get 10 weeks of very cold weather..........
the fert thats gone on today will maintain the crop ,keep tillers alive and help prevent going yellow plus will make the hay, haylage and straw we have left worth a fortune, seriously, its not cold that bothers me its the chance of wet wet wet restRicting spreading opportunites and I reckon its better to be a tad early in reasonable conditions than trying to play catchup and making a mess( been there done that), having said that the enviro lobby wont like it but they are not paying my bills

Quite so, 4course.

Did all our WB and most of our Grafton on a frost last Saturday am (06.00 - 10.00)

Can't see now where the tractor went - except by a calculation back from the yellow to the green.
