The app isn’t new ? - everything else is ! We didn’t touch the app and unfortunately have no control over it

What device are you on ?

It's been playing up ever since you started messing about with the website. So before you trot out the same old rubbish about having no control, it is something you've done. I have to log in every other time, even when I'm logged in it will say I don't have permission and trying to access my inbox is about a 1 in 5 chance of it working.

I even tried the website it has been so bad. Straight back to the app I hasten to add.

Android Samsung A6.

No it is nothing we have done (we didn’t change the app) and we don’t have any control over the Tapatalk app - we just pay for it that’s all

If you are going to call me a liar you can fix it yourself !

I will contact Tapatalk on Monday and ask them if there is an issue they can help with
But there's nothing you can do? You've only paid for it, it's not like you're a customer?

It can't be a coincidence that you've buggered about with the website and its messed up the app with similar login problems?

All I can do as a customer is contact them on Monday and complain / ask if they have a known Issue - we have no direct access to fix anything to do with the app ourselves it’s just a paid for 3rd party service

But we didn’t change anything and the app does work on my iPhone at the moment (I much prefer browser view however so don’t use it)

We are investigating alternative app solutions as post v2 upgrade there are other options that were not available on v1 of the forum

We have never been happy with Tapatalk as a solution

Is that the app ? If so nothing we can do I’m afraid

Frankly I don’t know why anyone would use the app, it’s rubbish and always has been
We like the app because it puts content first. It doesn't have all the clutter which you keep loading on to the website. It's simple, quick and ergonomic.

Dark theme to. Hate white backgrounds

I like white backgrounds.

And there is the problem summed up. As websites progress the use of APPs will fade as devices becoming more powerful allow websites to emulate the look and feel of an all.

The app is not bespoke - its a generic thing from Tapatalk. So we have no control over the functionality. We had feared the upgrade to version 2 might brake it completely, but we installed the addon for the forum and all seemed to work. But what you see in the app is down to Tapatalk.

The problem with the APP is loads of features are missing. The step would be to develop a bespoke app and allow users to download it from the APP store, but this would most likely carry a cost. We assumed most users would prefer the "flawed" but free version.

I don't use it, the browser version is so much better on my phone, but all phones are different and there in lies the problem. Seems android issues are struggling the most. But I'm afraid, as said, all we can do is report the issues and hope that they get fixed. The timeline on this is out of our hands.

You've missed the point. The app has light and dark themes!!!

The great thing about the app is that so many of the features are missing. It just works without all the extra crap.

From what I've read on the version 2 thread you've spent quite a bit of time minimising all the new stuff because it was getting in the way of the content!
