Applying MOP now

I've just taken delivery of my MOP fertiliser which i was intending to apply this coming spring. However with the ground conditions being so dry and the forecast settled, i am considering applying the MOP now to all my established autumn sown wheat and oilseed rape crops. If we have a wet winter will the MOP leach? I could leave it till the spring but that it was late April before we could travel this time.

A) I wouldn’t apply it now, unless you have very low index, plants don’t need it until spring

B) I wouldn’t apply MOP if I needed potash at all

Depends on your soil type. In sand here we will wait till Feb. If heavy I'd go now. I was perusing the same question myself.

Probably something he's selling .:D

No - in fact the opposite, the company that supplies it is very anti TFF etc and spat their dummy out big tone re Farm Marketplace

But it’s a good prodyct and much cheaper K than anything in a bag !

I only ever recommend stuff I like and use myself

We are on heavy ground and i know if it turns wet it can be April before we can travel again. i know the crops probably don't need any potash until the spring but I like to get the work done and i won't have the fertiliser taking up space in my shed all winter but i don't want it leaching away from an environmental or financial point.
