I couldn't bear to listen to it all I got enough of Arthur Scargill back in the day, used to have an ex miner living next door and he certainly had a poor opinion of him, said Scargill drew six months wages at the start of the strike !!

A bit rich him talking about votes and democracy when he refused in fact vetoed a vote on the miners strike !!!

Makes me even more glad I voted remain if he's the best that brexiteers can point to 😂

I wouldn't point to him, not in any positive way, yet I supported and support Brexit. I could list any number of idiots, liars, hypocrites, anti-democrats and perma-sulking prigs who voted remain, but not one of them makes me 'glad' I voted to leave, because I voted on principle not to oppose others... I voted on principles too as I thought it was genuinely the best for the country for farming and for the Northern Ireland border which many English leave voters didn't seem to know about or at least got a shock when it seemed to be a problem.

I didn't so much vote against people but could never see myself voting with members of the EDL ex BNP and Farage with all his racist rhetoric.

I get it that you think brexit is wonderful and perhaps for you it will be, perhaps I'm wrong but I think you're that ex army former barrister if so I don't suppose farm support or trade deals undercutting British farming will cost you much.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Quite right, I don't believe in subsidy however you want to paint it, and I also support free trade. And democracy too.

Lots of nasty racists voted to stay in the EU, because they see it as a way to 'protect' European civilisation (that could be termed 'white' civilisation, and is by some who are less savvy and more honest); lots of protectionists and exclusionists voted for it as well, for obvious reasons.

As for voting with, or against others, I really couldn't care who votes the same way as me; if I think something right I'll vote that way.

For somebody talking of racist rhetoric, you seem to be directing the blame for all of your own shortcomings on English people?
Well done.

Why engage in this brexit mud slinging. In modern day parlance it is what it is. The problem we face in the UK is that our government has no coherent vision of the future. From a personal perspective the government’s attitude to agriculture, from it’s actions, rather than it’s words the policy aims appear to be to run down home production of food and import the shortfall from abroad irrespective of the true costs. I believe this “food” policy is rooted in an outdated colonial view of the world where Great Britain assumed it could be supplied with whatever it needed from the Empire. This is a delusional view of Britain’s place in the world. Just as delusional as the “belief” in “free” markets. The coming trade agreements will see the global vultures picking over the carcass whilst the government are enjoying their holidays.

Take a squint at some European extreme groups, who advocate 'One Europe' - but their preference is more along the lines of 'Ein Reich' or the USSR than what I think you have in mind...

You're the expert in such things; see above, do some homework and then come back and say sorry. (y)

My own view is that this was inevitable but will, in time bring a better class of politician to the UK. The people up there at the moment are simply not able to run an independent nation. Many people like myself who voted leave expect some years of struggle but considered it the best choice in the long run. Some things have played out well so far but our govt. is inept and there is a reason for that. I don't think either side can be smug for at least 30 years.

Perhaps you better read again what I wrote,

the Northern Ireland border which many
#English leave voters#
didn't seem to know about or at least got a shock when it seemed to be a problem.

If it makes you happy I'll say, all the leave voters or at least the majority didn't seem to see the problem coming in Northern Ireland or couldn't care less.

My concern is for Northern Ireland and the people that live there having been through the border myself back in the day, with the army, razorwire, guns and violence the norm.

What are these shortcomings you're talking about, I'm sure I have none 😂😎
