As It Gets More Built Up It Will Get Worse?

Thats a fact in my area ive seen these shortages over the years, remember the fuel strike in i think 2000 , no fuel delivered for a week yes then the army was brought in, i think it was a industrial dispute between tanker drivers and management, oh the good old days? My point is from then to now the local areas population has i would imagine doubled, the fuel stations , many small ones now have packed up and at best now just trade a few second hand motors and offer car hand washed? Its concentrated the fuel sales in fewer outlets such as supermarket outlets? Yes great when you buy from them its cheap? but any glitch such as now? What the hell would happen to the UK as a whole if we ever had a hard winter again such as the one 1962-63?

The 2000 protest was lorry owners complaining about the tax on fuel.

I was Judging the National South Devon Cattle herd competition at the time with Paul Eustice - father of George the MP.....Cornwall to Scotland and Wales on the way home.

I thaught it was a good thing and that the public would get behind them , and the fuel tax could be reduced.

Unfortunately all the tw@ts went to the pumps and caused a shortage - fuel was obviously too cheap for them. :banghead:

Still the odd estate with its own HGV & driver, but becoming rare here in Norfolk. A local lad who was a tractor driver bpught himself an HGV and is expanding seems to have 3/4 units now ,all in a couple of years.Hauling grain & sugar beet when in season.
