Aldi and Lidl are taking up market share.
This is Labour's first test for their support for workers. If they do step in it'll be a variation on PFI. The lefties in the Labour party will start chuntering now.
Obviously HMG wouldn't nationalise Asda. That was just bait before bait![]()
I was told yesterday it’s because most doctors vote labour not sure about that to be honest. No, that will be the pay deal that they agreed with the doctors. 21% is some benchmark when the train drivers are revolting .....
Good point. I'll try and say why I started this and why this is Ag related not Cess Pit territory. No, that will be the pay deal that they agreed with the doctors. 21% is some benchmark when the train drivers are revolting .....
I did wonder if that’s why whenever im in there’s about 2 checkouts open and a queue a mile long for each, and nobody wanting to use the self checkouts with a trolley full.ASDA has far too much debt and with margins being squeezed it has little chance of survival.
Nationalising food supplies doesn't have a very good record in the world.
I don’t do self check out, prefer to queue and deal with a real person.I did wonder if that’s why whenever im in there’s about 2 checkouts open and a queue a mile long for each, and nobody wanting to use the self checkouts with a trolley full.
Depends how much owners are taking out..There last set of results showed profits had risen by 24% to over £1.1bn. I dont think they're in that much trouble.
Self checkouts just them trying to use less staff.I did wonder if that’s why whenever im in there’s about 2 checkouts open and a queue a mile long for each, and nobody wanting to use the self checkouts with a trolley full.

You can go to Lidl and get served by a person. That’s the issue. Everyone wants to use a proper checkout. Everyone is frustrated when they have to queue ages to wait for one of a handful of checkouts open, while about 10+ sit closed.
Self checkouts are fine for 3-4 items, a bunch of flowers and a card etc. For a basket full or trolley full then forget it.
“Please wait for assistance”
“Approval needed”
“Please place the item in bagging area”
It’s soul destroying!!

or selling your dinner to buy your breakfast....It's like Woolworths and a few others been in business a long time and borrowing to pay over inflated salaries, bonuses and dividends plus selling off sites and leasing them back, the clever people call it leverage, being a simple peasant I call it selling your breakfast to buy your dinner.
