Bale squeeze

What pins/bolts should i use in my bale squeeze , ive tried 8.8 bolts but they keep snapping

Don't tighten bolts up, leave them with a little movement and double nut them to stop the nuts rattling off. Sounds daft but I've known on diggers with the same method of keeping pins in never break a bolt if they are a little loose but if you nip them up they'll break all the time.

Pretty sure they should be roll pins. I'll get a look at ours next week, there should be a parts book somewhere too. Never had any issues with ours and it's over 30 years old.

If those bolts are snapping then you have bigger problems elsewhere.
As above the the pivots are most likely seized out tight or worn.
Those retaining bolts should have very little load if everything is right
