Balers choice

Got a bit of spring wheat to cut yet. Sprayed off 12 days ago and had a bite at it yesterday, but still quite a few greens in it yet. I'm wondering about the straw as obviously running out of time badly for letting it lye a few days. Will getting a contractor in to bale it, who can apply additive, let me bale it when it normally wouldn't be fit?

How much is the additive per bale, and for what will you use the straw?

I've always just wrapped damp straw be it for bedding and especially for feeding, if green enough

But I've my own wrapper, so at current wrap prices it's "only" £1.60/bale

I should get the straw dry enough, its the 10 odd percent of it thats still green that would concern me. Straw will be sold, so has to be right and even when it is right it's still not good enough😂😂
