Ball cock on sprayer filling tank not working correctly. I have replaced the rubber sealing disc and brass split pin but the tank still overflows. What is a better alternative to a very large cock and ball please?

Also check the mounting of it.?.makes sure its rock solid in order to work properly

Must be a damaged nozzle.

Worth looking at the small rubber disc that the volcano presses into, also check there's not a split or crack in volcano, frost can cause that.

A larger ball will turn off the flow more firmly, they do come in different sizes, otherwise replace the whole fitting

If your water is slightly acid you will probably find the brass nozzle has been eroded. Otherwise check the rubber that it pushes against as over time in leaves an imprint in it that starts to weep. Especially in slightly acid water again, as the rubber goes hard. Also there are high and low pressure versions, and quite often the wrong one can allow leakage.

Changed one on a leaky water trough the other day. The ball was leaking and partly filled with water so not closing the valve.

Dismantle the tap and check that it's sealing by blowing through it.

If you buy a new float and valve in b&q ,try screwing the float onto the valve arm and dim till assistant may only scan the 99p float and you get the valve for free . I did it purely by chance
