Ban Non stun slaughter

Back in the days of chopping people's heads off was a thing they did tests to see how long the heads remains conscious for by getting them to blink... Usually 30 seconds before you "died". So I guess it would be similar for non stunned animals.
I'd prefer to be stunned to hell with any evil religions that demands otherwise
Is that sentient consciousness tho or just reflex?

I would be interested to see that evidence because I believed that humans lost consciousness as soon as the blood supply stopped. Like how a fighter pilot blacks out in a high ‘G’ manoeuvre.
I am totally opposed to non - stun slaughter.

Were they asking them to blink or poking them in the eye?

My uncles had a slaughter house (Early 60's) They used captive bolt on everything. The cattle would drop and be bled out. Sheep done on a floor rack. Pigs pulled down to a floor ring. I was not allowed in when they did veal.

Thank you.
I will sign, and I wish you luck in your quest against this barbaric practice.
A ban won't happen, but immediate post-cut stunning would be a huge improvement in cattle welfare at point of slaughter.
Compulsory labelling of non stunned meat should also be required. That would bring pressure from the slaughterers, faced with blighted hind quarters to dispose of.

This, 100%.

Jews will only consume fore quarter meat, so where are the hind quarters going. Someone's buying it unbeknown. Firstly the method it was killed and secondly, another religion has blessed it.

I'm not the most travelled of folk but I've never seen any labelled as such.

I asked a director of a very large slaughter house in the Midlands what % were non stun. He said there were 2 settings on the shocker. 1 Stun and survive.2 Stun to kill. Nearly all the lambs went through the system on 1 (or were missed) because non Muslims never bothered to ask and Muslims wouldn't buy it if it wasn't done the way they wanted it. To late I'm afraid to change things, as they have a louder voice.
Thats a misleading and weird couple of statements. As far as I'm aware neither option 1 or 2 is even a real thing.

And yes animals/ people are conscious after having their throats slit. I've seen lambs bleating their lil hearts out after having their throats slit in halal slaughter houses, its pretty horrific. All of which is kinda annoying as I love a lamb doner kebab but don't want to be supporting sick and unnecessary suffering of animals. What to do? Ask for halal free meat?
