Ok so we allknow bank branches are closing left right and centre. To use a branch of my bank is now a right f on .

Loyds’s used to have a branch near me but it also closed but there’s a van that comes to the village a few times a week.

So I’ll open a free personal account with them and will be able to deposit cheques there then do a online transfer to my account.

Opened Loyds account on my mobile phone whilst watching TV , very easy .

Paper work card etc came through post with the necessary codes for bank app ,still quite simple to set up.

Gathered cheques up to head off to the banking van this morning I was a bit early so I had a mess around with the banking app found out that I can deposit cheques using it .
Cheques deposited!
Watch this space.

Last time I went to the my bank it probably took about 1hr and about gallon of gogo juice.

That’s great! Just realised I can do this on my Barclays app. Thank you for this revelation!!

Still think they should do away with cheques altogether now tho.

no place for a high street branch now - Lloyds online cheque deposit was the last reason I ever needed to go but no longer the case

works well but is currently limited to £500 I think

One cheque didn’t go through, either because I go by my middle name which was the Initial on the cheque and I added my 1st initial or due the dude who wrote the cheque had made a cockup ever so slightly writing the cheque.
Bank teller who knows me took it straight off.
With luck I had to drive through the small town with the bank AND have a double parking spot out side for motor and trailer
