Barford SX5000 dumper only limps in drive

Hi
I have a problem with my old barford dumper where it has no guts? It starts on the key first time every time and runs fine but has absolutely no guts and just limps around at about 2 mph in all gears? Any suggestions much appreciated.

Assuming it’s the torque converter model it probably needs fresh oil and filters in transmission as it’s probably same oil in there when built

Back to the drawing board, I’ve changed transmission oil and filter but still same problem it’s as if there is some sort of restrictor in place

Gauze filter in lift pump?

Not sure it starts and ticks over fine but has no revs and just crawls along

Fuel and air filters changed a couple of months back not lift pump. Might try the fuel filters again

Take the top off the lift pump, there is a filter in there, give it a good clean.

Some machines have little filters inserted just before the banjos on the fuel line before the first filter.One caused me grief once until someone enlightened me

That might just be it! I remember when I changed the filter there was the 4 inserts 2 different sizes I wonder if I put them back in the wrong place

If its got a rotary pump, it could be the filter in the end of that blocked.
Could be totally wrong though.

It's possible the diaphragm or valves in lift pump are faulty
It's possible there is restriction in outlet pipe at tank

When you say no power, If you do not put it in forward or reverse and press the Excelerator does the engine increase in speed are you would expect?

No only increases a little bit

it a fuelling issue start at the tank and work forward check the tank pipe blow back into fuel tank bound to have a build up of sediment then lift pump clean it out then the pipe up to the filters check the filters have sealed properly and are clean then on to the injector pump then bleed the whole system up removing all air

Similar issues last year found a inline filter after much searching tucked up under the tank hidden
