Barn Floor

Hi

The new property we are hopefully taking ownership of at the end of March has a cattle shed which I want to convert into my workshop.

Problem being, it has a soil floor on a gradient, so wondering if it is possible to remove soil and put a concrete base in.

If anyone has had this issue and added a concrete floor - what cost per m2 did it set you back please.
Just trying to get a feel for likely costs.

It is possible if you believe. You can remove these soil with your muscular arms and bring there some cement bags and mix it with right amount of sand-stone-water and pour around, yesss you can do it. Start to let it into your awareness and then it will start to become true for you, all around, chement.

Sheep job not make you enough money obviously or are you now moving over to milking imaginary cows

Also - why would I want to mix around 50m3 of cement by hand, you order it to come ready mixed in a truck, Dohh!

600 ish for concrete ,depends whats under the soil ,scrape it clean ,workshop for ?

Workshop is going to be for all maintenance and fabrication works. Tractors, Telehandler cars etc, but will still keep the animal entrance door for future animal requirements as there is a sheep race I think attached (not big enough for cattle), so looking further I believe it was once a sheep barn.

Fortunately I can work out m2 into m3 of concrete thank you.
Also, mixing yourself is not necessarily more healthy....

If it’s a soil floor you will need to dig down at least 400 if not 500mm, more if it’s a bit soft or wet. Be carefull how deep the stanchions are and what supports the walls if you have some!! 150-200ish mm of hardcore/stone/sub base etc, another 40-50 mm of finer binding material and maybe a bit of sand for the visqueen before 150-200mm of concrete with rebar as it’s a workshop. Was lucky here as we are on solid clay, got away with a good 100ish mm of sub base before 150mm concrete in my workshop. Roof not that high therefore will only be jacking cars and vintage tractors in there
