Sold them parts before if that helps never any issues. Seem straight so if they sold something with warranty i'm sure they would put any problems right. That said dont expect a peach for second hand money it rarely happens!

There are certainly far worse to buy from!

John Barnes is a nice chap, stuff is polished up a bit ,but a good chap to deal with

Many of his machines look like they have come from the construction industry, Would this have been easier life than one say off a farm? Thinking that sending materials up a building with pallet forks must be better than shifting feed and muck and no towing, and would a construction worker be more likely to own a grease gun. Thanks for any advice as always had tractor loaders before.

More likely a neglected life generally although not always the case and one that lives outside in all weathers all year round which really ages a machine quick.

Beware the much lower spec machine with construction compared to agri.

What machine are you actually looking at in particular?

I need one to lift 7 meters to get in the grain trucks easily, have toe tip bucket at moment with 150hp tractor at full stretch. Would prefer an older machine between years 2000 and 2008 before the problematic electrics, but with low hours for age and in tidy condition. Basic is spec is good for me.

Construcion spec machines are terrible compared to AG spec machines. A fraction of the horse power, terrible hydraulic flow & terrible transmissions etc

With JCB lower hp yes,oil flow isn't bad at all and the 4speed power shift box is bomb proof, same box used for over 20 years and was standard in ag machines till everybody wanted auto shifting and 40kph.
