Finally, I think they are available :)

2 NROSO Points are available every 12 months for being an active member of TFF with at least 5 posts :D

As before, to apply for your points, please hover over your member username in the top right hand corner of the page and click on the 'TFF CPD Points' link:

index.php

That will take you to a page like this.

Click on the link for the type of points you wish to apply for (at the moment only BASIS points are available).

You will then be taken to a form that looks like this:

Simply enter in your details and press submit. We'll send the info off to the relevant organisation and your points will be added to your record!

The points will last 12 months, and you won't be able to apply for anymore until 12 months is up. We'll send you an email to remind you to apply again when it is time.
Please note, the CPD Points page may take a minute to update after you have submitted the form.

Well done TFF team. Have found some useful tips on spraying here like using AS fertiliser as an adjuvant for glyphosphate.

It s a view but I wonder how just reading and contributing to members opinion on spraying is a way of getting points. I've been spraying thousands of acres over 30 yrs and found my annual course really usefully with the updates

Those who know me, on here, will be sick of me reeling out the same old crap but I believe if you can be bothered to sign up for this site you are probably going to use it. There is a massive knowledge base on here, not just your thousands of acres and 30 years but many others and a lot are more than happy to share it.
As a fairly new NrOso member who could have gone down the Grandfather rights route to restart my spraying, but decided to do it all from scratch, in hindsight I have probably had more useful advice from here than PA1 PA2 and 2 refresher courses.
This is just my view.

NRoSO is a professional register -why can someone with no training get on it ? I know Grandfather rights are going but the thing is a joke.
Some points gathering, especially in the early days totally devalued the register.
There is a pattern of getting people hooked in easily, then get it established, then up the standards. FA has been similar - nobody would have signed up at the start with todays standards.

Having just done Driver CPC I can tell you NrosO is a long way down the joke scale.
I personally have no problem with points gathering but do believe it should be tied in with a more formal on going training, we're dealing with dangerous chemicals here it has to be in our interests, my point in my original post is that membership and participation in professional forums is probably 2nd, if not equidistant to formal training.
My points target is met by more formal training but I do believe the importance of alternate learning methods should be recognised.

My main point is how can a scheme for CPD points be available to those with no training.
Have heard many stories of CPC - not many positives.

Makes my blood boil that, can go to a poxy show and get 2 points belong here and get points go to a stupid half day update once a year and get 10 but do two days training spend a few hundred quid and prove that you can do the job and get tested and only get 8, bonkers and just about sums up the whole pathetic scheme :poop::poop::banghead::banghead:

Awesome thanks!
I signed up to NRoSO 3 years ago and have only recently started spraying so only recently bothered to keep up with the points, now I'm running around like a headless chicken trying to make up my final 10 points. If anyone else has any further suggestions please PM me :)

Thanks

Have a look around the Farmers Weekly website. There's usually an Academy for online CPD points for both NRoSO & BASIS. I have resorted to that to get last minute BASIS points as I need 50/year & they are harder to come by than NRoSO ones.
