Lambs averaged about 1.85ppk at ruthin yesterday apparently.
Beef was down i took some cull cows to a pickstock collection centre today and was told not to bother sending clean beef for a while they were down to 3.55 and might go lower again over the next 2 weeks. Was quoted 2.85 for the 2 cull cows if anyone is interested

Will see what happens ive got steer thats nearing 30 months (his heifer mother wasnt meant to calve but did somehow and hes never done well still only 570kg) but was told to keep him till autumn and go over 30 months. I trust the agent hes as honest as they come ill phone him in a few weeks and see what he has to say then.

You better hope he’s right otherwise you’re gonna get docked 10p for going over age

Can you not shove him in the freezer, no worry about age and weight then and you will eat like a lord all winter
I like this idea (y) id probably be the only one that eats him though he became a bit of a pet with the rest of the family after all his mates went last autumn and he was in by himself for a bit till the bull joined him

He should be able to eat like a lord if he sends him off, be well over 300 kg deadweight and can choose what he wants for dinner instead of mince again.[emoji849][emoji23]
Id probably still choose a burger

Hes been at grass for a while now so not costing a fortune to keep but i think i will send him he isnt going to get any heavier and he isnt doing me any favours here either

ABP are 5p/kg off for 30-36months. However if he’s not improving I’d agree your better off sending now.

Is ABP the lowest price for beef at the moment?
I was told this week it is £3.51 and likley to go down 5p next week as it has gone down 5p a week for the last two weeks!!

That is a serious drop!
