I think they are treading a very fine line now...barley and straw up...there’s going to be some casualtiesIts what they do, when farm gate prices are under pressure they always put the price up.
The final vote will be in parliament and that could be against the deal and that's also democracy. Anyway, I agree on being forced to accept the euro if we go to the wire and then ask to stay so who knows. And yes £100 too much but still cheaper than the blues.Brexit in some shape or form will happen or else democracy is dead in the UK and so will the conservative party be as well.
Also if we stay in the EU will make us at the very min pay more money in/ join the Euro etc etc so staying in is not an option any more.
£420 for 200 kilo heifers is £100 too much as things stand.

£3.63 last JuneI agree and in real terms before this week's drops the beef price is 20pk down on last year.
If they cut it too much people will just store the cattle given the fodder situation/ grain prices etc and next spring finished cattle will be very thin on the ground.
What was the beef price 12 months ago?
£3.63 last June
No it’s less now
What are woodheads next week @Chuckie ?
Ah so it’s the same, I quoted the price including the bonuses for guthrey3.53 before bonuses
They do that to slow sales down so they can then say there is no demand and use that as an excuse to drop the farm gate price even more, have seen the above supermarket do this more than once.

I must be getting my knickers in a twist10p less now. I've just checked and they were 3.63 before bonuses this time last year. Stayed at that until mid August then went up 2p. Then dropped 5p second week in October.
Everyone’s dumping them nowThe number of cows coming forward is putting pressure on the clean beef price, Thainstone on Thursday had over 200 cows. This time of year it would normally be 80 odd.

Yes folk are weaning calves early and getting rid of cows. There was seemingly a lot of fresh weaned calves sold last Friday.Everyone’s dumping them now
FFS they are cheap!Store trade at Exeter back in terms of numbers and price. Some lots struggled to get a bid.
I picked up a couple pens of Texals for £40. Weighed when I got home and averaged 30kg.
