What was trade like at Darlo today @Dman2 @Northeastfarmer

I’d say up a bit, (not a lot) smaller stuff up more than big stuff

dont weigh cattle up this area but at a guess 350 kilo tops

Hopefully improvement lasts. Got 20 for next week. Just heard calves were fair bit dearer at leyburn last Friday.

Was hoping calf prices would be down

I think they are still down to what they were. I do exactly the same with my in-laws limi crosses.(take an average)

Exeter prime lambs only averaged about 1.50 kilo today which is 20pk less than Sedgemoor.

Would be intresting to know why Exeter was so bad!

Certainly if I was buying I would be looking at the small stuff, money to be made their! Think your mate's right but that would be the real small stuff, guess people don't want the risk,
I sold a few continentals, 37 38 kg weights (stores) £66 happy with that.

Had a quick look in Carlisle fat lambs yesterday.Trade seemed crap,same as above,plenty ordinary Tex x making £66-£67 or so at 41kg-43kg.No better than store price,or even poorer.One main buyer,Skelton buying on 15 accounts,Dawson and Lomax buying a handful,otherwise they would not even need to put them through the ring.
