Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

did you see the simon reeve program on the med ? there is a massive area (as big as a uk county) covered in plastic growing fruit and veg in spain for the supermarkets , do you really think that will be stopped ? lamb will be a tiny export compared to all that and all the cars etc , dont worry there will be some sort of deal on goods , their farmers / industry will be far worse off in a no deal situation. .
I'm more worried by a good spring (for price) and depletion of the national flock , I sell terminal rams and need an expanding market .
That area is also fecked. Rivers wrecked with chems and empty spray cans litter everywhere. Also heaps of illegals doing the work, living in tents chucking waste in rivers/sea

considering they are an EU country with all the rules etc , its disgusting its allowed to continue , and uk supermarkets etc are complicit in the slave labour .
The main reason i voted leave , is rules are not implemented fairly in all states, then everyone is working to the lowest common price point despite the costs

will be interested in what % of the hill lamb crop was lost last april , thats the big factor on numbers
If those AHDB figures are correct (and they should be:confused:??) the only way we will know is at the end of april, by which time it'll be too late for making marketing decisions

I'm just wondering how many of us are holding lambs back (because of low prices) that we would normally be selling now.

I would very much doubt anyone with fit lambs will be holding them back, with the lack of and price of fodder/concentrates if there are people doing this I would imagine the numbers will have a tiny impact in the supply.

A lot didn’t make it, autumn sales of hill lambs are well down on recent years round here

pretty much what i thought , i can see lowland figures being fairly static on a killing front , but % wise the hill lamb will be a big part of the crop that makes up the throughput in late winter after lowland finishing . Still recon adhb figures will be well out on numbers on the ground , another thing to consider is how many singles were killed early after losing a sibling .along with their mothers as cull values held up till sept

How do blondes tend to kill out? If got a blonde x 9 month old bull that I got out of leyburn and it's shaping up well (for a dairy cross) just wondering how it will finish.
Im a long term user of blondes, but whilst any breed varies greatly the blonde certainly has a 2 tiered type, too many lean growy bulls that need way too much feed to get their calves fit, and then barely fit, and often too much size and weight at that point, the better end are fine and no different to a limy, but often get better weights on the heifers
