Well this is awkward
What is??
Sounds like there is now a North/ South split on lamb prices with quotes much lower in the South/South West than up North.

They say lightning never strikes twiceWas looking up some old market report and it was this week coming that lambs jumped last year.
Go sedge today? Has it effective store price much?
Would be a good idea if all deadweight sellers cancelled for a few weeks, and took a few in to live markets, and let the deadweight buyers turn up and bid at them competitively. It might be very interesting.Sell live and thrive.......Honiton is about £5 ahead of deadweight now that deadweight quotes have dropped back to £4.05/10pk a kilo.
From what I could gather today talking to several people that most have cancelled the lambs they had booked in for deadweight for next week because they are disgusted that the price has dropped so much when liveweight has gone up in the past week.
And now the plants are apparently ringing around out of desperation trying to get lambs because they are now short of lambs for next week!
Didnt see any sold as i was waiting for my hoggs to go through. From the report they seemed to be a decent trade. From the catalogue, there seemed to be a big range of ages for the cows, some were still kept in tie stalls. They would be quiet,i think, almost like pet cows.Did you see the stock cows?
I did see most of them though but missed the first few. The incalf cows looked dearer than the cows and calves. Down a fiver...except the smaller ones which in my eyes were a stand on trade...something that needs sorting and soon...saw 5/6 pens of sheep in different sections of the market with active scab, that means at 20/30 pens go away with a free giftGo sedge today? Has it effective store price much?
They shouldn’t be allowed to sell them if they have scab....absolutely disgracefulDown a fiver...except the smaller ones which in my eyes were a stand on trade...something that needs sorting and soon...saw 5/6 pens of sheep in different sections of the market with active scab, that means at 20/30 pens go away with a free gift

They don't give a jolly..They even joke about it with the dealers when selling.. The ministry are more concerned with a lame sheep...than ever they are about scabDid you bring it to the auctioneers attention that you saw sheep with active scab?
They don't give a jolly
They should send scabby sheep home! Spreading it aboutBut if TS get to know would they then clamp down on it? like they have done with lame sheep at Sedge the last few months where they have been sending them home if they are lame.
But once they touch the pens..they start spreading it around..loading bays etc..its a costly pain and a disgrace as you say...They should send scabby sheep home! Spreading it about
