thats another reason trade fell off a cliff this week , i expect they had to deal with that load of meat as well . at some point europe will have used supplies and will need to restock , anyone know what the vegi trade in spain is like at the moment ?If true, that is quite literally the last thing the trade needs!
A couple of snippets from the Farmstock Scotland which may be of interest: Social distancing requirements are having a particularly large impact on chicken production which may in turn help beef (also pork?). I was hoping that Ramadan and Easter would help they sheep trade but they point out that social distancing may well have a negative impact there .
No sorry, havent heard anything yet. Ross wasnt to bad yesterday by all accounts but couldnt swear on itAny reports on Ludlow today, @Werzle possibly ?
You’ve changed your tune...earlier in the week you said Ramadan would strengthen these collapsed lamb pricesWouldn't give Ramadan much weight this year unfortunately. Prime chicken breast doing £4 a kilo retail, mixed boneless chicken £3 a kilo.
To add insult to injury, many ethnic butchers have been offered beef this week at rock bottom prices. The whole landscape is changing due to wholesalers looking for new outlets for their beef, I fear this may impact negatively on lamb and ewe prices come ramadan time.
