Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

A couple of snippets from the Farmstock Scotland which may be of interest: Social distancing requirements are having a particularly large impact on chicken production which may in turn help beef (also pork?). I was hoping that Ramadan and Easter would help they sheep trade but they point out that social distancing may well have a negative impact there :(.

Yep, Asda in Barrybados today was full of Irish beef, Australian and NZ lamb. Only British mince was Angus, only British lamb was on the top shelf, lashed in some glaze.

People looking at me funny for calling it a load of shite. Can't stand those places, took 45 minutes queuing to get in as well. At least it was sunny

Wouldn't give Ramadan much weight this year unfortunately. Prime chicken breast doing £4 a kilo retail, mixed boneless chicken £3 a kilo.

To add insult to injury, many ethnic butchers have been offered beef this week at rock bottom prices. The whole landscape is changing due to wholesalers looking for new outlets for their beef, I fear this may impact negatively on lamb and ewe prices come ramadan time.

You’ve changed your tune...earlier in the week you said Ramadan would strengthen these collapsed lamb prices
