Spar shops have recorded an 800% increase in meat sales! If the beef trade doesnt take off at some point this year it never will
I agree,we don't want to be accused of profiteering,but if we cant get above 360p/kg dwt this year we may as well pack up.There aint much in it at 320p and costs are sure to rise when this is all over,not least income tax to pay for it all...

The reason for that is because a lot more people are shopping at the local petrol station/ corner shop rather than queue up for hours to get into a supermarket.

Don't forget that most corner shops etc ( not sure on spar ) buy their goods from Bookers which is in turn I believe owned by Tesco!

Yep im not having all the hardwork and sleepless nights calving much longer if things do not improve, easier ways to lose money!

Fair points but i still think meat buying is up, even its only going to sit in the freezer. Many people have bought twice- once on the online order that is held up by no delivery dates and secondly from the corner shop just in case.
