Be three year since I have been but they peddle though some random lambs and seem to do a good job for the seller.

When folk buy these weaned calves, do they get much problems with pneumonia?

Up untill xmas you can....horrible dank foggy wet days....not so bad into the new year

I find that about a week after they get here you need to watch them carefully, they can have a temp of 106 without looking much wrong with them. We use Draxxin on them which is expensive but usually effective. Dairy bred on the other hand seem to be better with something different IMO.

Intranasal, good ventilation and twice a day feeding is our method. Seems to work ok. We used to get more bother when we bought dairy crosses.

still strong.

huge number of sheep in today. Though there was also a ewe lamb sakes and about 1500 ewes plus couple hundred rams.

Even outside pens full. Could hardly park on site.

I’m starting to think some of the venerability to IBR is in the breeding. Same cows seem to breed the problem ones

We were completely clean of it till 3 years ago.

I only took cull ewes yesterday, butcher special lambs still making over £100, nice female lambs still getting £2/kg, but heavier tup lambs had dropped the most, think my lambs from last week would have been at least £10/ head less yesterday. Tidy 43kg £78 towards the end of the sale

Stores were still a good trade, felt some of the ewe lambs were not too expensive considering shearling sales.

Rams a strong trade for time of year, especially suffolks.

80 grand bf lmb at lanark, so not the 100grand plus talked about, wish l had one to sell.
