Rugby today. Happy with the pence per kg and price per lamb.

However the lambs weighed average 49.72kg last Monday at home over a digital weigh platform in the Alligator race. They had lost 5kg each by today over Rugby scales.

14 lambs sold direct to butchers last week and weighed at the same time totalled 630kg (average 45kg) yet still managed to kill out at 323kg dead (average 23.07kg) 51% killing out.

If my scales are out by the percentage of my Rugby lambs then my butchers lambs killed out at 57%!

well chanced my arm this morning , moving some odds and sods ram lambs (2pure char , 2 zwartbles x char , one in each pen ) that had issues before the others went out on keep for winter , ok price for those , nothing exciting !

lol had 2 whole pens , didnt think there were too many in ,(3 rows) , were some Huge suff lambs in , just in front of mine , would like to have handled them .

Beef trade took a hit today, buyers just weren't interested, especially in the best ones, mine were 10p/kg down on last week's flyer of a trade! A regular buyer who would usually buy 4 or 5 of mine didn't buy a single one today!
I'm going for a little cry now!

You probably just got unlucky with a little local difficulty, my deadweight agent was saying the demand is still there.
