I dont follow sorry,I dont think it is a political point scoring exercise but one to safeguard their own citizens

Certainly very handy for the French Gov to show how difficult they could make life for the UK if there is a no deal trade exit for the UK at a very critical point in talks with the UK/EU over a trade deal...

Also very handy for the UK Gov if there is a no deal trade exit as not only does this solve the bad PR of lorry's queuing for hours/days to be allowed to cross the channel but any fallout over anything bad brexit related if there is a no deal can be blamed on the virus and not the mess the UK Gov will have got us into by their failure to get a trade deal.

Whatever your views on the virus/ brexit etc one thing is true and that its quite clear the UK Gov have no regard for Business and could not get less if they destroy every industry/ sector in the UK to cover up for their incompetence!

Unaccompanied freight will still be going, although the congestion in Kent will make it more difficult.
A lot of lamb goes on unaccompanied Reefers so hopefully will still get through.

However it is what was going to happen on 1st January so just get used to it.
