It's nearly impossible to tell how heavy they are on photos, how people buy cattle by photo and video is well beyond me :scratchhead:
If those cattle are well grown and and weigh well (550+ kg) £2.55 - £2.75p/kg maybe 1 or 2 a touch more.
videos, find out height of rostrum, or rails, that will give you height of beast, width, you have to judge !
store ring at the old yeovil mkt, had 5 different levels in it, and the drover was not very tall, nearer 5ft than 6 !!!
and most of the dealers hog the rails.
pictures, unless something very special, no.

When video selling was first suggested/attempted, nearly 30 years ago(?), I thought then that it would be worth building a post & rail ‘presentation ring’ to film them in. A nice pastoral back drop, and a manicured ring with a low fence round it.🤐

Ultimately the same reason I’d struggle to ever bid up on much from a picture or video.

speaking to someone involved with the 'marteye' system, it has surpassed all expectations, you can have the whole of the british isles watching, and bidding. It's not only away buyers that watch/buy, but local as well, locals who are busy, can spend time watching, rather than actually going, to the sale/mkt, and save a lot of time, if busy. Some 60% of the bidding, is through marteye, on the dairy side, and cattle have gone right over the UK.
But, l agree with @neilo not really for me, yet. This will/is, an important way, to mkt stock, and probably we will all get used to it, in the end, after all, it's high tech farming !

I watched the charollais sheep dungannon sale last year , and was as good as standing by the ring , fantastic camera angle and clarity , could easily see all the foot faults etc , The one good thing covid has done is speed this transition up and has dragged many marts into the 21st century , now many of us have smart phones will be the future for sure .
Who knows what the next step might be Automatic carcase scanners maybe lol ?

If that age and well grown then from the pics then yesterday they would have made £1450+.

Top price was £1605 head yesterday for stores.

Steers averaged £1115 and that included a lot of cattle that you would not want even if they were given to you!
Will know tomorrow

Steers made 250.265.271 dont know the weight tho
Well they will come to a lot more than many said...myself included
