I don't like the idea of the supermarkets taking control of production. Look at the pig and poultry markets, there's no competition anywhere and oversupply to keep the price down.

I wouldn't be so averse to being paid an option at the market price without deductions. It's still supping with the devil though.
They don’t “ take control” farmers “ give them control” their is a difference .

What will suckled calf prices be like this time? Got a few that I'm thinking of selling off the cow, cows are getting culled! They are 5-6mths, approx 200-250kg at a guess, pure Blonde. Never sold at that age before, so any guidance would be good, cheers!

At 250kg in Portree week past Monday if shapey £800 to £900. Limmys at the 8 Charolais closer to 9

Beefs good, stores are good, feed is going too be fecking dear!!! 🤷🏻‍♂️ Could go either way

I can't see too many big arable farmers who
grow OSR wanting to plant hundreds of acres of turnips.
Between increasing flea beetle numbers and club root you
dont need Deborah Meadan to say 'I'm out'.
Ain’t just arable farmers that struggle with flea beatle you know😢
