47.5kg £114 & 45kg £107.50 Ross on wye for Grass fed Tex/cha

What should I expect for swaledale store lambs later this week? Some over 35kg others not quite as big, reasonably fleshy healthy lambs

Over 10,000 ewes lambs at hereford tomorrow..... I'd def be going there if I were in the market for Tex/suf x.... There'll be some bargains if ur patient me thinks... Those big sales are a total waste of time after 5000 if your not selling the very very best ....

Just looked at a sale report from last store sale at Hawes, swales topped at £55 averaged £50

Thats what I thought, pen at £1400 pen at £1200, its all just a big boys ego boosting club, they'd have to try to keep up with Kirkby sale

Has anyone seen any very small store lambs sell recently, Iv got some lleyn cross (welsh that was a mistake I won't make again) to go this week, healthy but struggle for 20kg. I was hoping they make £50, am I being too optimistic?

I was weighing the poor bunch ive got this morning skimming the 37kg+‘s off for better grass and I had 2x 22kg lambs and if someone gave me £50 i’d give half of it back as luck

Thats what I'm expecting for my broken mouthed girls on Saturday, suppose its what you call a draft ewe. Most of the Hawes ones would only be 3 crop and have a few years left in them, mine will do someone 1 year on a kind farm

Take out the big prices and that average would look more sensible although I often think the depreciation on Swale draft ewes is very high

A lot of draft ewes must cost £50 per year working on £50 cull values and two years of running

There`s always some very expensive ewes at that sale that make for an inflated average - the big price ewes won`t be breeding mules - they`ll have the pleasure of a handsome Swaley tup.

Swales don't make £187 cull

Some of you guys just don`t know how to market your culls properly!!!
