Champion lambs in Ross today were
50kg £170. My lambs 46kg £134.50. Live seems to have gone up in line with dead thankfully!!
I was pleased with my ewes too. I haven't seen any sold for ages, but they made more than I was expecting. Not often you meet a happy sheep farmer!!!

Text from Skipton this morning - they think they'll be short of lambs today with lot of local roads closed.
All major roads to the market still OK though.

I don't think there is one (or a BACS payment system....). IIRC @hendrebc gets texted the Welshpool trade by his local auctioneers.
Iv picked a good week to go on holiday 
Went Friday morning and forecast was 1 hour of light snow at 6pm… so decided too carry on and go… got a message from lad looking after my sheep the next morning that we’d had nearly a foot of snow Then more again yesterday… @Purli R those are your lambs up on the hill in the distance

Numbers yet again well down on the week for prime lambs at both Exeter at Sedge today.
Trade flying at both centre's for lambs!
Exeter SQQ 276 ppk ( up 14.4 ppk on the week )
Sedge SQQ 284,5 ppk ( up a massive 25.5 ppk on the week)
Given the trade not drawing out the lambs it appears very much like the lambs just are not out there and the price can only go one way!

The weather has been very good for the time of year down here so i do not think that weather has taken a toll at these markets.
Of course up North today with the snow/blocked roads etc it will have badly affected numbers.

I cant see many holding lambs back that are fit on this trade!
A long time to spring and we are just going into no doubt some bad weather, even fit lambs will drop dead for no good reason let alone being snowed in/ just cant take the weather etc so if they are fit they are better gone!
Anything could happen ref trade come the spring as things now are so uncertain, they could be worth £180-200 head or could be worth £80-100 head, no one knows what is going to happen!
