I took lambs too Bakewell a couple month ago and while I was there I seen a very embarrassing display of a man throwing a very large tantrum because he’d been asked too load his sheep up and leave because most of them were walking on 3 legs What was worse was he actually worked there as a droverI had yan to load an tek yam agen. . . Do i win?
Youd be thinkin the overheads were gettin serious!Had a limmy bullock jumped over the top of the gate entering to ring 2 at Carlisle felt the draft on the back of my head as it went over me.
Another day at another mart one jumped out the ring in amongst the crowd ran up the steps and looked out the windowYoud be thinkin the overheads were gettin serious!

Can’t believe it but it made £102 !I took one old mule to melton today and think it’s wool was the old thing holding it up really.haven’t had the email through yet to see what she made .
And yet prime hoggs are £100-£130Can’t believe it but it made £102 !
How do you see hoggs going in the next few weeks?May last longer than we think.
While there will be slightly less demand after 1st week of July it is also likely that supply will have been exhausted and so the numbers available will take until early August to balance out again. There is huge demand for manufacturing meat (look at the price of cows) which ewes fit into.
You only have to look at the statistics to see how many extra ewes have been killed recently.
Then who knows what will happen.
If finished lambs stay above £100 (no reason why they won't) then there will be demand for breeding ewes from August which will put a bottom in the ewe trade.
What price Shearlings though?
Kirkby stephen if so i was there that dayYou’re only jealous that they have too send word south that they want some properly finished hoggs...
I can’t see breeders being dear. We were all having a flyer last year and breeders weren't exactly OTT. Lot of confidence has been knocked out since then. Unfortunately the truth is that less and less of us want too lamb sheep...
and getting fed up of dealing with scab , codd and other market issues etc , a lot of commercial flocks are now purchasing privately from known sourcesAnd more and more of those that do, are breeding their own replacements now, in whatever form.
You wish . Breeders will be through the roof! All driven by the cast ewe price.I can’t see breeders being dear. We were all having a flyer last year and breeders weren't exactly OTT. No way. Breeders will be driven by the fat lamb price over the summer. If stores are strong breeders will be good, stores were brilliant last autumn and I still bought 300 replacements. You wish . Breeders will be through the roof! All driven by the cast ewe price.
