Yes best week so far. Selling in penfulls helps. Few folk about wanting a pen full rather than being odd 1’s and 2’s. Lets hope next weeks even better. Numbers getting less now

Absolute pain in the arse! I thought Hexham were bad for it in the store sales but longtown gave them a run for 1st prize on that job as a buyer I’d rather get a couple of decent size lots gathered up as a start then you know you’re on your way rather than wondering after your first few 1s and 2s if it’s even worth ringing the wagon or just putting them on the back seat

Singles ruin sales, i think it puts alot of folk off going to mart . Ok older fancy things like they get at hexham but suckled calves and the likes need batched up .

Sometimes I struggle to get them batched up with calving all year round and cows like liquirish all sorts

Yeh fine for the sweepings up but if you’ve got a decent lot entered then just get them grouped up, quite a lot of the time the same man buys them anyway

I did see a dealer type fella put some sheep that were all the same in separately or small lots, the auctioneer started to put them in decent matched lots the fella complained so the auctioneer forced him to sell them all separately I thought that a was funny

I had 80 in one day in 8 lots , dick in front of me had over 100 1 at a time …. Folk go to the canteen when they start that sh!t its just boring takes ages .

Just filled the truck up with diesel….is it just me or do other people compare how much things cost compared to a hogg…

when you have to sell nearly one hogg to fill the truck up then either diesels too dear, or hoggs are too cheap…or both

Time is standing still for sheep. The fact they ain’t £200 each in 2022 is ridiculous
