Was speaking to a friend/neighbour today. He'd phoned ABP to book in 12 bulls. Agent told him 14 day waiting list so just booked them in for then. ABP agent phones next day saying they could take them tomorrow!

He told them to p!55 off. They'd get them in 2 weeks.

shame he hadn’t just told them to p!ss off

Is it because they aint making any money out them ? Or is their somethimg else ? Because i wouldnt want to base my future om sheep alone they could crash any day and 100% sheep not great for the land either .

I dont know anyones circumstances but i admire folk who start farming but also them that pack up weather whole
Job or part of the enterprise its a bigger decision in my eyes than deciding
To give it a go , it often alot harder to say enough is enough and actually do it !!

My mother did that once , dairy farm sell it now ! Probably for the best now but sh!t at the time .

Last time she got excited was when she got the email for the second load of fert yesterday
I was a safe distance away when it arrived through

If you’re buying barley can’t see anything but a loss at the moment, growing your own isn’t much better.

If you grow your own you'll be ok as long as you've got the tonnage.
